If we take a figure
And throw it to the ground
Ants are gaining tenure
And the forest makes no sound.
All the insects everywhere
Wave a hairy, tiny pair
Into what little sky they know
That echos to the earth below
We listen for such incidents!
We weave the grass to hidden specs
We look for suckers or the kind
That follow from a spaced-out mind
Rolly Polly, Daddy Longs
Righting all our sloppy wrongs
Drinking up our trails of tears
Under foot for all these years
Stretched across my path to see.
Thanks you worms for saving me!
